![]() Overall I'm really happy with the radio (this is my first ever touch screen radio), but it seems odd to me that Yaesu would release it without releasing any software to program it with. Entering 40 repeaters took around an hour where with other radios and the RT Systems software it has taken under 15 minutes (most of that spent clicking on the channel assignments because I haven't found a way to bulk assign channels). I'm really disappointed that Yaesu didn't release the programming software when they started selling this radio and that I didn't notice this when I bought it a few days ago.Īdding repeaters on this radio with the touch screen is definitely easier than any of the radios I've owned before, but trying to put in all of the data for so many locations is just not something I'm willing to do at this point. ![]() Looking at the list I have in the programming software for my VX-6 that's around 200 repeaters to cover all of the hiking areas I go to across a few states. I'll probably eventually start carrying this on hikes in place of my VX-6 but I'd like to program in all of my local repeaters and the repeaters that are out around the areas that I hike in. ![]() ![]() It sounds great (the audio is nice and loud), the touch screen and interface is easy to use, and I haven't had any issues transmitting or receiving in areas where I've previously used my FT-60R, FT-70DR, or VX-6R. ![]()
